Rustic Beach Florida Wedding

Lauren + Sam met in Asheville, NC in 2008, while she was on a job scouting trip from Florida. Lauren was taking a brewery tour and Sam was the charming tour guide. After conjuring some “liquid courage”, Lauren asked Sam out on a date and the rest is history! She moved up a few months later. In early 2016, Sam got a great job opportunity in Lauren’s hometown area of South Florida, so they packed up and headed down for their next adventure. During their going away party, Sam completely surprised Lauren and proposed in front of their closest friends! They got married on April 1, 2017 in Jupiter, FL and are ready for their next adventure.

It’s clear to see that Lauren + Sam’s wedding day went off without a hitch. Here are a few tips from Lauren herself:

“We had a pretty small budget but we knew we could pull off a great event even with 100 guests. I found out about the website, which allows you to send a request to different vendor categories and those interested respond to you with pricing and details. It really saved us a lot of time and money and is where I found our photographer, caterer, DJ and hair/makeup artist, most of which were small or start up businesses. And, to save even more money, I bought and later sold discounted decor through a Facebook marketplace group specially targeted to used wedding decor. I also used a free service through the local tourism bureau, Discover The Palm Beaches, that helped us find hotel room blocks for our out of town guests and that saved precious time making a ton of calls! They even provided free welcome bags and cool little gifts.

One of my favorite aspects of our wedding were my flowers. I knew how expensive flowers were (and hate that they die!), so we opted to use succulents for the bouquets, bouts, corsages and hair accessories, and dreamt up whimsical non-floral centerpieces. After the wedding, I was able to plant all of the succulents and they are still alive today! It’s a great way to “be green” and keep a fun memory of our special day.”
